Thai PM Abhisit takes leave to register for election campaign

BANGKOK, May 18 –Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva has taken two days leave to apply as a party-list candidate for the Democrat Party, while advising ministers to be cautious in their joining events to avoid any violation of election laws.

Minister to the Prime Minister’s Office Satit Wongnongtaey said after Wednesday’s Cabinet meeting that the prime minister warned ministers regarding regulations of the Election Commission (EC) to prevent any unintentional violation of candidates ahead of the general election.
