Bangkok (AIT News) – A powerful earthquake has hit Laos on Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at 10:53 PM.

The quake measured magnitude 4.6. The earthquake struck 101 km (63 miles) E of Muang Nan, Thailand and 587 km (364 miles) NNE of Bangkok, Thailand.

The quake was also felt in the area of northern Thailand bordering Laos.
