Security Measures Prepared for Bangkok Red-shirt Gathering on Feb 13
The Bangkok city police are preparing to deploy six companies of officers to maintain order during the planned rally by members of the Democratic Alliance Against Dictatorship on February 13.
Metropolitan Police Division 2 Commander Police Major General Damrongsak Kittiprapat met with Criminal Court Secretary General Krerkrit Ittarat to discuss security measures for the gathering being planned by red-shirt supporters at the Criminal Court on Ratchadapisek Road next Sunday.
The group plans to stage a rally in front of the Criminal Court to read a letter from a detained red-shirt leader detailing the red-shirt activists’ defense, including their appeal, investigation, bail conditions and the use of double standards, and are urging that the judges use fairness in the legal proceedings.
