Thai PM denies Thaksin-Bout swap claim

Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva on Tuesday again denied a WikiLeaks report that he discussed the extradition of ousted premier Thaksin Shinawatra with US President Barack Obama, or that there was a deal regarding the Vikor Bout extradition.

Mr Abhisit said he and the US president had not discussed the Thaksin-Bout situation during their Nov 14 meeting at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (Apec) forum in Japan.

There was no agreement between Thailand and the US to swap Thaksin for accused Russian arms dealer Viktor Bout, he said.
