A MAN who was critically injured in a road accident in Thailand was due to fly home to his family tonight in time for Christmas.
Antony Giles, of Stapleford, was a passenger on his friend’s moped when it was in collision with a car on November 25.
He suffered serious injuries to his legs, arm and chest and has been treated in a Bangkok hospital.
Antony’s mum Debbie, who rushed out with husband Allan to be with him in Thailand, was told he might not survive following the crash.
But almost a month later he has made a remarkable recovery and was fit enough to be discharged from hospital on his 23rd birthday on Wednesday.
Thai medics have now given him the green light to travel home and he was due to fly from Bangkok to Heathrow Airport at 7.30pm to be with his family for Christmas.
