100,000 onlookers experience Formula One racing exhibition on Bangkok’s Rajdamnoen Avenue

BANGKOK, Dec 18 – Over 100,000 fans experienced a Formula One car racing (F1) demonstration on Rajdamnoen Avenue Saturday afternoon as part of the celebrations for HM the King’s 84th birthday in 2011 in the “Street of Kings Rajdamnoen Red Bull Bangkok 2010” show.

Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn presided over the driving exhibition ceremony on Bangkok’s Ratchadamnoen Avenue with huge crowds lining road.

Australian Red Bull racer Mark Webber, who finished third in the world championship this year, drove his RB26-Renault RS27 over a circuit running from Phan Fa Bridge (near the Golden Mount) towards the Democracy Monument and finishing at Kok Wua Intersection.

The huge crowd roared enthusiastic support along the streets when veteran driver Webber left the pit garage as the four-lap course got under way.
