French Tourist Dies in Fall at Samui Waterfall

KOH SAMUI – A 22-year-old French tourist died on Monday morning after falling from a waterfall on the popular resort island of Koh Samui. The victim, identified only as Alexis, was taking photographs at the top of Na Muang 2 Waterfall when he lost his footing and plunged to the base of the falls.

The man’s wife, who was with him at the time, alerted police shortly after 11:30 a.m. on January 5. Officers arriving at the scene found the distraught woman near the base of the waterfall. According to her statement, the couple had traveled from their hotel in Bo Phut to visit the scenic site. While taking pictures, Alexis stepped backward on the slippery rocks, lost his balance, and fell.

The incident highlights the dangers that can accompany visits to natural tourist attractions, particularly when safety precautions are not strictly observed. Local authorities are conducting a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident.
