Danish Tourist and Thai Woman Detained for Public Indecency at Jomtien Beach
PATTAYA – A Danish man and a Thai woman have been detained by Pattaya police after being discovered engaging in sexual activity on a floating pontoon offshore at Jomtien Beach. The incident, which unfolded late on Saturday night, prompted complaints from shocked onlookers and led to the couple being brought ashore for questioning.
Public Outrage Erupts Over Indecent Balcony Act in Central Pattaya
The incident was reported at 10:05 p.m. on December 20, 2025, near Soi Jomtien 5–7. A 27-year-old tourist, identified only as Bas, told police he was walking along the beach collecting shells when he noticed the couple on a swimming pontoon in the sea. He described the man as white-skinned and bald and stated both individuals appeared unclothed and were engaged in audible and visible sexual activity.
Bas reported that several people along the shoreline witnessed the act, with some recording video evidence. He subsequently contacted Pattaya City Police, who arrived promptly at the scene. Officers identified themselves to the couple, instructed them to dress, and escorted them back to shore for further investigation.

During initial questioning, the Thai woman stated she had never engaged in such behavior before. She explained she had recently traveled to Pattaya for the first time after leaving her home in Surin province due to concerns over border clashes. She claimed the situation escalated after meeting the foreign man and going swimming together.

Police emphasized that the couple’s actions were inappropriate for a public space and could undermine public order. Both individuals were taken to Pattaya City Police Station for formal questioning and were issued warnings.
