The incident occurred around 2 a.m. as the couple, 46-year-old Mr. L. and 26-year-old Ms. T., stopped at a street food vendor after a night out. According to Ms. T., one of three Uzbek tourists—identified as Mr. Yerkin, aged 35–40—groped her in public. When her Italian boyfriend intervened, another man from the group, Mr. Mukhtar, allegedly punched Mr. L. in the face, knocking him to the ground. Videos circulated online show the Italian man collapsing amid a crowd of onlookers, some cheering while others called for help.
Pattaya police, stationed nearby, quickly detained all parties involved. During questioning at the station, tensions escalated as the Uzbek group showed no remorse and allegedly insulted Ms. T. with derogatory remarks, including calling her a “night worker.” This prompted her to pursue legal action despite initially considering dropping the matter.
Mr. L. received medical treatment for a swollen cheek and bruising. Police are reviewing video evidence and witness statements to file charges including sexual harassment and assault. The Uzbek tourists remain in custody as the investigation continues.
