Pakistani Tourist Arrested at Bangkok Airport Over Phuket Transgender Assault Case

BANGKOK – A Pakistani national was apprehended at Suvarnabhumi Airport on October 17, 2025, while attempting to leave Thailand, following allegations that he assaulted and robbed a transgender woman in Phuket. The arrest occurred hours after a court issued a warrant, with Patong police taking custody of the suspect to return him to Phuket for prosecution.

Pakistani National Arrested for Alleged Sexual Harassment of Autistic Woman in Udon Thani

The case originated on October 13 when a 25-year-old transgender woman, Chalemchai, filed a formal complaint with Patong Police. She reported meeting the South Asian tourist on Bangla Road and accompanying him to her hotel on Soi Saen Sabai. After initially paying 1,000 baht for services, the man reportedly demanded his money back, leading to a physical altercation. Chalemchai alleged the suspect assaulted her before stealing 10,000 baht in cash and fleeing the scene.

Through witness statements and hotel records, investigators identified the assailant as 23-year-old Muhammad from Pakistan, correcting earlier assumptions about his nationality. Police secured an arrest warrant on October 17 and coordinated with airport authorities, leading to his interception in the departure area before he could board his flight.
