Authorities acted on a tip-off indicating that a foreign national was storing a significant quantity of drugs in a hotel located on Sukhumvit Soi 11. Intelligence suggested the suspect was awaiting instructions to deliver the narcotics, potentially for international shipment. Fearing the evidence could be moved or destroyed, police proceeded without a warrant and coordinated with hotel management to access the fourth-floor room.
Upon entering the room, officers confronted the 23-year-old suspect, identified as Mr. W. G. H. A. An English-speaking officer translated the police proceedings for him. A search of the premises revealed a pink SWISS+ brand suitcase placed on the bed. Inside, investigators found ten sealed packets disguised as “GUANYIN” tea leaves, each containing high-purity crystal methamphetamine. The total weight of the seized substance was 9,152 grams.

The suspect reportedly admitted ownership of the drugs and was formally arrested on charges of possessing and distributing a Category 1 narcotic with intent to sell. During initial questioning, Mr. A. claimed he had received the shipment from another British national known only as “Snoopy,” stating he was to be paid 20,000 baht for storing the drugs and facilitating their transfer to an unknown buyer.
