PHUKET – A Norwegian tourist was safely escorted back to her hotel by Phuket police after being found intoxicated and lying on a footpath in Patong on the night of September 23. The woman was discovered accompanied by an Israeli tourist, while her husband was reportedly searching for her in a state of panic at their accommodation. Authorities confirmed that the woman was unharmed and was later reunited with her spouse.

The incident unfolded when police and volunteer patrols noticed the woman asleep on the pavement along a busy road. A foreign man seated nearby identified himself as an Israeli tourist and explained to officers that he had met the Norwegian woman earlier that evening on Bangla Road. He clarified that he was not acquainted with her prior to that night and had remained with her to ensure her safety.

As the woman was not carrying any identification, officers faced difficulty determining her place of stay. Police subsequently contacted several hotels in the vicinity and established that she was registered as a guest at a local resort and spa. Hotel staff informed authorities that her husband had been urgently seeking her whereabouts and expressed relief upon learning she was safe.

The incident attracted significant attention on social media, with some netizens praising the Israeli man for his assistance, while others made lighthearted comments about the situation. Police have not indicated that any further legal action will be taken.
