Drunken Brawl Leaves Chinese Tourist Stabbed at Pattaya Restaurant
PATTAYA – A late-night dining outing turned violent when an intoxicated Chinese national allegedly stabbed a fellow countryman at a restaurant along Pattaya Second Road in the early hours of May 26.

Pattaya City Police responded to the scene around 12:45 AM after receiving reports of an assault. Officers and rescue volunteers from the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation found 40-year-old Chinese tourist Cheng D. suffering from a knife wound to his left ribcage. Emergency personnel administered first aid before transporting him to hospital for treatment.
Witnesses at the scene had detained the alleged attacker, identified as Chinese national Mr. He, who appeared heavily intoxicated. Police recovered a fruit knife believed to be the weapon used in the assault. The fifth-floor dining room showed clear signs of a struggle, with bloodstains visible on floors and walls.

According to restaurant staff, Cheng and his friends were dining peacefully when He allegedly burst into their private room uninvited. A waiter reported hearing Cheng tell the intoxicated man, “You’re so drunk you’ve stumbled into the wrong room, get out,” using offensive language before the sudden attack occurred.
Cheng’s friends confirmed to police that the two men were strangers prior to the incident. Authorities are continuing their investigation, with charges expected to be filed following forensic examination and witness statements. The case highlights ongoing concerns about alcohol-related violence in Pattaya’s tourist areas.
