Public Health Min urging people to destroy mosquito breading grounds

BANGKOK, 16 September 2016 (NNT) – The Ministry of Public Health is planning to revive the Public Health Act 1992, hoping to motivate people to destroy Aedes larvae in their own homes.

Public Health Minister Dr. Piyasakol Sakolsattayathorn is scheduled to meet with his ASEAN counterparts on Monday, September 19th, in an attempt to stop a Zika virus outbreak. He added Section 72 of the Public Health Act 1992, which makes having Aedes mosquito breeding grounds in a house punishable by law, will be exercised to contain the infection.
