1 million meth pills seized in Chiang Rai

CHIANG RAI, Jan 15 — Police here arrested a drug trafficker with one million methamphetamine pills in a hospital carpark. They said the drugs were destined for Bangkok.

Pol Lt Gen Thanitsak Theerasawasdi, commander of Provincial Police Region 5, said Niran Sakulrakkiat, 43, was arrested driving a pickup truck with 10 bags containing 1 million methamphetamine pills and 18 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine or “ice” in green tea packages.
