Thailand to deport migrant workers without nationality verification

BANGKOK, Nov 19 – The Thai government will repatriate some 184,000 migrant workers who fail to pass the nationality verification procedure after the deadline on December 14, according to a senior labour official.
Employment Department Director General Pravit Khiengpol said there are 184,000 migrant workers who have not yet proved their nationality – 45,000 from Myanmar, 40,000 from Cambodia and 99,000 from the Lao PDR.
