Cabinet extends security law enforcement in Bangkok

BANGKOK, March 22 – The Thai Cabinet on Tuesday extended implementation of the Internal Security Act (ISA) in Bangkok’s seven districts for another 30 days as it is due to expire on Friday.

The Centre for the Administration of Peace and Order (CAPO) asked the Cabinet to extend the ISA from March 26 through April 24.

The ISA was Imposed from Feb 9 through 23, but later extended through Mar 25 to facilitate the security agencies handling of protests by the People’s Alliance for Democracy (PAD), also known as the ‘Yellow Shirts,’ the ‘Red Shirt’ United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) in the capital.
