Jatuporn Prompan reports to Court after being given arrest warrant

BANGKOK, 19 May 2014 (NNT) – Chairman of the United Front for Democracy Against Dictatorship (UDD) Jatuporn Prompan has appeared before the Criminal Court after an arrest warrant was issued against him in a libel case.

Mr Jatuporn, accompanied by his legal team, traveled to the Criminal Court this afternoon in a bid to clarify his failure to be present in court this morning as summoned. His absence prompted the Court to issue an arrest warrant against him. He was due to testify in a defamation case lodged against him by former Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva after he accused the latter of ordering a massacre of protesters in 2009.
