The incident, which occurred last week in front of a 7-Eleven on Bang Tao–Surin Beach Road, showed the 28-year-old man maneuvering a silver ISUZU D-Max pickup truck erratically, alarming residents and prompting calls to police. Officers quickly located and intercepted the vehicle, seizing it on-site and summoning the driver to Cherng Talay Police Station.

The suspect, whose name has not been disclosed, faces charges under Thai traffic laws for dangerous driving and causing public alarm. He has been processed in accordance with legal procedures, and his vehicle remains impounded pending further investigation.

Authorities emphasized a zero-tolerance approach to reckless behavior by tourists, particularly in areas frequented by pedestrians and families. The arrest follows a series of incidents involving foreign nationals violating traffic laws in Phuket, prompting increased patrols and public appeals for adherence to local regulations.
