The discovery was made at approximately 11:45 a.m. on September 26 at a hotel on Nanai Road. Staff alerted police after repeated attempts to contact the guest went unanswered. Officers from Patong Police Station, under the direction of Lieutenant Colonel Chanarong Prakongkeo, arrived at the scene alongside rescue workers from the Kusoldharm Phuket Foundation. They found the man lying face down on the bed, fully clothed, with no visible signs of struggle or injury in the room.
A preliminary examination conducted by a forensic doctor from Vachira Phuket Hospital revealed no evidence of physical trauma. According to police statements, there are no obvious suspicious circumstances surrounding the death at this preliminary stage. The tourist had checked into the hotel alone on September 19 and was described by staff as a quiet guest who kept to himself. He had not been seen leaving the premises in the hours preceding his death.
