Armed Chinese Men Hold Thai Woman Hostage in Pattaya Villa

PATTAYA — Pattaya police are searching for two Chinese nationals who allegedly broke into a luxury villa early Thursday morning, held a Thai woman at gunpoint, and bound her with cable ties while waiting for her Chinese husband to return home.

Chiang Mai Police Crack Down on Chinese Crime Syndicate After Brutal Murder

The incident occurred around 3:05 a.m. on August 22 at a two-story pool villa in Suphamit Village, Soi Bongkot. Police responded swiftly after neighbors alerted them that the victim, a woman aged 30–40, had escaped and sought help. She reported that the armed men stormed into the house, threatened her with a firearm, and locked her in a bedroom while demanding her husband’s return.

As officers arrived, one suspect attempted to flee in a white Toyota, ramming a police motorcycle and a parked car before leading police on a 20-kilometer chase. He ultimately escaped near Thara Resort in the Huay Yai area.

The victim and her husband are now being questioned by police, who are investigating possible motives including debts, personal conflicts, or business disputes. Pattaya City Police Superintendent Pol Col Anek Srathongyu noted that the suspects told the woman not to be afraid and that matters would “resolve when her husband returns,” suggesting the incident may not have been purely financially motivated.
