Police Hunt Russian Trio in Pattaya Cannabis Heist
PATTAYA – Police are hunting for three Russian men accused of stealing 2 kilograms of premium cannabis worth 160,000 baht from a local clinic in a daring daylight robbery. The incident, which occurred on July 4th at approximately 9:00 PM, has sparked outrage among Pattaya’s legal cannabis community.

The owner of the Banglamung-based dispensary told investigators the suspects arrived in a blue Ford sedan and spent over 30 minutes negotiating the purchase of organic cannabis before making their move. Security footage shows the men – all appearing to be in their 20s or 30s – calmly inspecting the product before snatching the merchandise when the owner briefly turned away to prepare sales documents.
“These weren’t opportunistic thieves but calculated criminals,” said Pol. Col. Sombat Dechakhamphu of Nong Prue Police Station. “They knew exactly what they wanted and how to get it.” The clinic owner, who asked not to be named, described how the suspects fled within seconds, jumping into their waiting vehicle with the stolen goods.

Authorities have circulated images of the suspects and their vehicle captured on CCTV, offering a 20,000 baht reward for information. The footage clearly shows one suspect carrying a backpack believed to contain the stolen cannabis as they rushed from the premises at 9:57 PM.
The theft highlights growing concerns about security in Thailand’s legal cannabis industry following decriminalization. Many dispensary owners report increasing incidents of theft targeting high-value products.
“This wasn’t just about the financial loss,” the victimized business owner told reporters. “It violates the trust we extend to all customers in this new legal market.”
Police confirmed they are coordinating with immigration authorities to track the suspects, who may attempt to leave the country. Investigators believe the same group may be responsible for similar crimes in tourist areas.
