TAT unveils AirAsia aircraft livery to mark Thailand-China anniversary
PRESS RELEASE – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has introduced a new aircraft livery to commemorate fifty years of diplomatic relations between Thailand and China. The unveiling, took place on July 9, was led by TAT Governor Thapanee Kiatphaibool in collaboration with Thai AirAsia executives. The event also included representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Yang Xiaolong, Counselor of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Thailand.
TAT Promotes Jurassic World Filming Sites in Southern Thailand
The commemorative livery has been applied to a Thai AirAsia Airbus A320, which will operate on routes connecting Thailand with ten major cities in China.
The aircraft’s exterior features an emblem representing the milestone anniversary, where a naga and a dragon intertwine to form the number 50 while gazing at a golden orb. The livery also includes greetings in both Thai and Chinese: “สวัสดี” and “你好 (Nihao),” symbolizing the long-standing relationship between the two nations. Inside the cabin, the livery extends to promotional content with the theme “5 Must Do in Thailand,” featured on overhead bins, cabin partitions, and tray tables.

The campaign blends cultural symbolism with tourism promotion, designed to create a lasting impression on Chinese travelers. Through its partnership with Thai AirAsia and government agencies, TAT is working to enhance the emotional appeal of travel to Thailand while celebrating key diplomatic milestones.
TAT Launches Amazing Thailand Romance Month
TAT projects that the campaign will help drive its 2025 target of more than 4.79 million visitors from China, generating over 270 billion baht in tourism revenue.
