Police and rescue teams rushed to the scene after receiving reports of the attack around 11:30 PM. They found a Burmese laborer, identified only as Kyaw, bleeding profusely from a 10-centimeter cut on his head. According to witnesses, Kyaw had stumbled into a nearby minimart seeking help before four fellow workers attempted to forcibly retrieve him. Store employees intervened and alerted authorities.
At the construction site, officers located the alleged attacker—another Burmese worker—resting in the workers’ quarters with a stab wound under his armpit and facial injuries. A bloodstained machete was recovered nearby.
Investigations revealed both men had been drinking cheap liquor prior to the fight. The dispute reportedly began when Kyaw demanded money from his coworker, who responded by reminding him of past financial assistance, including buying him food. The argument quickly escalated into violence, with each man blaming the other for starting the physical altercation.
The construction supervisor stated the employer would not mediate the dispute, leaving the matter to police. Authorities are continuing their investigation and reviewing CCTV footage to determine appropriate charges.
