Images from the crash site showed rescue workers working to free passengers from the wreckage amid the crumpled frame of the bus. Authorities have launched a formal investigation into the incident, focusing on potential negligence, the driver’s physical condition, and the vehicle’s maintenance records.
The crash comes amid growing concern over road safety in Thailand, particularly involving long-haul passenger transport. It follows closely on the heels of another high-profile bus accident in Bangkok earlier this week, where brake failure was cited in a crash that injured multiple Indian foreign exchange students.
