BoI approves two Cloud data service centre projects for Chon Buri

Thailand’s Board of Investment (BoI) has granted promotional privileges to two major projects, together worth more than 60 billion baht, to build data centres in the eastern province of Chon Buri.

Microsoft to build first data centre in Thailand

According to Sasikarn Watthanachan, deputy government spokesperson, one of the projects, estimated to cost about 32 billion baht, was proposed by Quartz Computing Company, an affiliate of Alphabet Inc., the parent company of Google. On completion, it will become the Google’s fifth Cloud service centre in Asia.
