Wat Nong Wang in Khon Kaen

Wat Nong Wang, in Thai พระมหาธาตุแก่นนคร, is a magnificent Thai royal Buddhist temple located on Klangmuang Road in the north-eastern province of Khon kaen.

This temple is famous for its 9-story stupa. The stupa base is a square shape of 50 meters and 80 meters high. This big golden temple features Isan style architecture.

Wat Nongwang was established to celebrate the Golden Jubilee Celebrations of His Majesty Bhumibol Adulyadej accession to the throne and also to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the establishment of Khon Kaen province.

This one is a “must see” if you’re visiting Khon Kaen.
