Prime Minister Prayut Chan-ocha reconfirmed that the controversial single internet gateway was just an idea under discussion and that the government had not taken any action to implement the idea.

“Allow me to say for one more time it was just a matter under discussion. But it was leaked and publicized on the aspect which is not the core issue. What I have said is that we have to respect human rights and this has to be in line with the law. And if it is possible then go and discuss about it. But if it is against the law and a violation of human rights, then it cannot be done. There is nothing concrete yet,”
