Thai PM: Aid money on the way for rubber growers

BANGKOK, 9 December 2014 (NNT) – Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha has insisted that the disbursement of financial aid for rubber farmers is being expedited while the private sector has been asked to purchase rubber at 50-60 baht a kilo.

Following the weekly Cabinet meeting, Gen Prayut commented on the government’s effort to ease the suffering of rubber planters, saying the payment of assistance money of 1,000 baht per rai was experiencing a slight delay as it had to go through various official procedures first. Nonetheless, he said the Bureau of the Budget had been urged to proceed with the disbursement as quickly as possible.
