Constitutional Court rejects anti-democracy charges against protesters

BANGKOK, Feb 12 – The Constitution Court today dismissed a petition by Pheu Thai Party spokesman Prompong Nopparit against protest leader Suthep Thaugsuban for attempting to abolish Thailand’s constitutional monarchy.

Mr Prompong charged 10 members of the People’s Democracy Reform Committee (PDRC) including Mr Suthep with organising anti-government demonstrations with the objective of unconstitutionally acquiring administrative power.
