Patrick Frédéric Dany Oepen a 42 year old Belgian convicted of raping his step daughter in his home country has been arrested in Nongprue, Pattaya on Wednesday.

Oepen absconded from Belgium last year after being convicted of repeatedly raping his step daughter over a period of 5 years from when she was just 12 until 17. Courts sentenced him to 8 years in prison and he managed to escape Europe and flee to Thailand, first arriving in Phuket on a visitor visa in February 2012.
