Former Queensland MP Robert Lindsay Poole charged in Thailand
A FORMER Queensland politician, Robert Lindsay Poole, has been arrested in northern Thailand and faces charges of cheating and fraud in relation to an energy company set up in Thailand.
faThe 62-year-old Poole was arrested on Thursday in the Thai town of Surin.
He pleaded not guilty and was released on bail at a court appearance yesterday.
He did not disclose the bail conditions.
Mr Poole, in a brief interview with AAP, said the charges involved business conflicts related to the company Envee Energy, which has operations in Thailand and Australia.
“These are bull…t charges in Thailand,” he said.
