Thai Soldier Loses Leg to Landmine in Sisaket Ahead of Ceasefire
SISAKET – A Thai soldier was severely injured after stepping on an anti-personnel landmine in Sisaket province on Saturday, just thirty minutes before a 72-hour ceasefire between Thailand and Cambodia took effect. The incident occurred during an operation in the Khao Sattasom area.

Private Narin Ngaoprai lost his right leg in the explosion and was evacuated by helicopter to Surin Hospital, where he remains under close medical supervision. The 2nd Army Area confirmed the incident, noting that the area has been placed under strict control with ongoing safety inspections to protect other personnel.

Private Narin is the tenth Thai soldier to suffer limb loss from PMN-2 anti-personnel mines allegedly laid by Cambodian forces along the border since July 2025. In total, 21 Thai soldiers have been injured in similar explosions.
Chinese National Seriously Injured by Landmine While Illegally Crossing Thai-Cambodian Border
The injury occurred shortly before the defence ministers of Thailand and Cambodia signed a ceasefire agreement in Chanthaburi, following Cambodia’s acceptance of previously outlined terms. The agreement requires both sides to maintain current military positions without movement, reinforcement, or further attacks during a 72-hour observation period.
