Russian Overstayer Surviving on Streets Detained by Pattaya Immigration
PATTAYA – A Russian national, found living in destitute conditions near Pratumnak Beach in Pattaya, has been detained by immigration police for overstaying his visa by nearly two months. The man, previously known as Ruslan Dinarovich Valiev and more recently identifying as Narli Svuo, had been surviving without shelter, money, or a phone for several months, relying on discarded food and occasional assistance from Russian-speaking residents.

Authorities discovered him wearing worn and heavily soiled clothing, in visibly poor health, and sleeping on the porch of a local showroom near the beach. His passport was damaged by water, rendering it unusable for travel and complicating his immigration status. A black dog that had remained faithfully by his side throughout his ordeal has since been adopted by members of the local Russian community.
Further investigation led immigration officials to contact his mother, who confirmed he suffers from serious mental health issues and had been unstable before leaving home. He has since been taken to a police station, where he has been provided with food, care, and stabilization while welfare arrangements are assessed.
