UDON THANI – A 21-year-old Finnish national sustained critical injuries after falling from the fourth floor of a hotel in Udon Thani on Friday night. The incident occurred around 11:30 PM on Prajak Silpakorn Road, prompting a multi-unit emergency response that included police, rescue teams, and medical personnel.

The victim, identified only as Mr. V. M. J. V., was discovered on the ground in front of the hotel lobby wearing only boxer shorts, suffering from broken legs and a head injury. He was initially conscious and able to communicate briefly before being transported to Bangkok-Udon Thani Hospital for emergency treatment.

According to the victim’s stepmother, Ms. Weeranuch, the family had arrived in Udon Thani earlier that day to visit her hometown. After dinner, they retired to separate rooms, with the young man staying in room 406. She confirmed he had not consumed alcohol before the incident. Authorities, including tourist police, are investigating the circumstances surrounding the fall while providing support to the family. Medical staff continue to monitor the patient closely due to the severity of his injuries, particularly the potential traumatic brain impact.
