Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul and his Cabinet sworn in
BANGKOK – Thailand’s new Cabinet, under the leadership of Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, was formally sworn in during a ceremony at Amporn Sathan Residential Hall in Dusit Palace on Wednesday evening. The Prime Minister and his 35 ministers were granted an audience by His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Queen, who delivered an address to guide the new government in its duties.

Speaking to reporters after the ceremony with a trembling voice and visible emotion, Prime Minister Anutin stated that all ministers had received the King’s blessings and royal advice. He expressed his belief that the Cabinet was profoundly honored and would dedicate their utmost ability, their lives, and their intellect to repay the royal grace, describing it as the highest blessing they had ever been granted.

Immediately following the swearing-in, the government convened a special Cabinet meeting to finalize its policy statement for Parliament. The Prime Minister is expected to deliver this statement to the legislative body early next week. The policy will focus on addressing several urgent areas, including stimulating the economy through schemes like co-payments and reducing energy costs, maintaining national security with particular attention to the Thai-Cambodian border, managing natural disasters, and tackling pressing social issues such as drug crime and online scams.

Prime Minister Anutin also announced a new operational dimension for his administration, stating that the Cabinet would now function non-stop.
