The accident occurred around 1:30 AM at the Krasaebon intersection on Highway 344, a key route connecting Ban Bueng to Klaeng district. Police and emergency teams arriving at the scene found a horrific sight: an overturned 18-wheeler pinning a crushed Toyota Fortuner beneath it, with moans of pain audible from the wreckage.
Rescuers deployed a crane to lift the massive truck before using specialized equipment to cut through the mangled SUV. Inside, they found three deceased Chinese nationals (aged 39, 40, and 49) and the 38-year-old Chinese driver, severely injured and rushed to Klaeng Hospital.

Initial investigations revealed the Fortuner had stopped at a traffic light before making a right turn—only to be struck by the oncoming truck. The impact dragged the SUV 50 meters before the truck halted. Shockingly, the truck driver fled the scene, prompting a police manhunt. Authorities are reviewing surveillance footage to identify and locate the suspect.
The Chinese Embassy has been informed, as officials work to support the victims’ families. The crash underscores ongoing concerns about road safety in Thailand, where traffic fatalities remain alarmingly high.
