Bangkok Rises in Global Rankings , Aims for Top 10

BANGKOK (NBT WORLD) – Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt has welcomed the city’s improved global rankings, following its rise to No. 34 in Kearney’s 2024 Global Cities Index and recognition by Time Out as the world’s second-best city in 2025. He attributed the progress to collaboration between the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA), the national government, and the public. While acknowledging the achievement, he stressed the need for continued development to position Bangkok among the world’s top 10 cities.

Investor confidence remains a key priority for Bangkok’s economic growth, with a focus on attracting skilled professionals, reputable investors, and high-quality tourism. However, Chadchart warned that illicit businesses undermine Thailand’s image and deter credible investment. To address this issue, he has coordinated with National Police Chief Pol Gen Kitrat Phanphet to strengthen law enforcement and ensure only legitimate investors contribute to the city’s development.
