On June 5th, 2024, Thai Government spokesperson Chai Watcharong announced that the lifestyle and travel guide magazine “Time Out” has ranked Bangkok, Thailand, as the 6th best city in the world for food.

Bangkok Wants Street Food Vendors to Pay Tax, Set Income Limits

Time Out highlighted that experiencing local cuisine is a key way to understand a city. The ranking was based on a survey of thousands of people who rated cities on food quality and price.
