Over 50,000 break ‘human wave’ record in Thailand

(NECN/MCOT) – The human wave world record was broken in the northeastern Thai province of Khon Kaen as the “Human Waves NO AL” event drew over 50,000 participants on Khao Niaw road.

The Human Waves NO AL activity happened with 50,208 participants, way higher than 42,652 participants in the same activity last year. The activity started in 2009 to demonstrate unity among Songkran festival revelers on Khao Niaw road. Participants began with sitting on the road. The first group of participants started the record-breaking human wave by raising their hands, jumping and sitting down quickly. Next groups of participants then did the same one after another.
