Thai Student Wins Doodle 4 Google Competition With a Unique Look of the Royal Barge

Therdthanwa Kanama, a 15-year-old student from Maha Sarakham province, won Thailand’s first Doodle 4 Google competition, beating more than 46,000 other submissions with his doodle of a royal barge.

The doodle will be visible on the Google Thailand homepage for 24 hours on Her Majesty the Queen’s birthday on August 12.

Mr. Therdthanwa said the royal barge Suphannahongse, which serves His Majesty the King in various royal ceremonies, was his inspiration. He said his creative use of the color gold and the image of the royal boat symbolizes Thai craftsmanship and displays his respect for tradition, culture, and history.
