Saudi Tourist Fined, Visa Revoked for Public Indecency in Phuket
PHUKET – A Saudi Arabian tourist has been fined and ordered to be deported from Thailand after engaging in public indecency in the Patong area of Phuket. The incident, which occurred on Soi Paradise in Kathu district, was reported by locals and later circulated widely on social media.

Authorities charged the man, identified as Mr. A., after he admitted to committing obscene acts while intoxicated on a roadside, despite being asked repeatedly to return to his hotel. He was fined 5,000 baht, settling the criminal case on Tuesday. No action was disclosed regarding a second foreign man also involved in the incident.
Further investigation revealed Mr. A. had entered Thailand on December 27 on a tourist visa valid until February 24. Immigration officials concluded his behavior violated Thai cultural norms and public morality, damaging the country’s image.

Under Section 36 of the Immigration Act (1979), his visa has been revoked. Immigration Division 6 has notified him of the cancellation and transferred him to the Phuket Immigration Detention Centre pending deportation proceedings.
