PHUKET – A domestic disturbance involving a Canadian family in Phuket resulted in a police intervention in the early hours of Sunday, leaving two children injured and their mother hospitalized. The incident unfolded at a private residence on Sai Yuan 11 Road in Rawai, Mueang district.

Police were alerted around 12:30 a.m. on December 21, 2025, after neighbors reported an assault at the home. Officers from Chalong Police Station arrived to find a six-year-old Canadian girl injured inside the house. According to a statement, a foreign neighbor had already taken the girl’s 13-year-old brother to Dibuk Hospital after the boy sought help, alleging that their mother had attacked both siblings.
Simultaneously, police received a separate report about a disoriented foreign woman with self-inflicted abdominal injuries. Patrol officers detained the woman, identified as the 45-year-old Canadian mother of the two children. Inside the residence, police discovered knives believed to have been used during the incident, along with blood stains throughout the home, notably in a downstairs bathroom where the six-year-old girl had reportedly hidden.
