Security Officer and Insurgent Killed in Pattani Clash; Six Injured in Narathiwat Blast
A border patrol police officer and an insurgent were fatally wounded during a confrontation in Pattani’s Sai Buri district on Wednesday night, while a separate bombing in Narathiwat left six people injured on Thursday morning.

The clash in Pattani occurred after security forces cordoned off an area where insurgents were believed to be hiding. An explosive ordnance disposal unit was conducting a search for hidden devices when a firefight broke out, resulting in the death of one officer and one insurgent. One suspect was detained following the operation.

In Narathiwat’s Yee Ngor district, an improvised explosive device concealed in bushes near a tea house was remotely detonated on Thursday morning. The blast injured three police officers and six civilians, four of them seriously. Among the wounded was a 79-year-old woman. The explosion also struck a passing pickup truck, injuring its occupants. The site is located approximately 200 meters from the Yee Ngor police station.
Two Public Parks Closed in Yala Following Series of Bomb Blasts
Following the Narathiwat blast, authorities sealed off the area and deployed bomb disposal teams to search for additional devices. All injured individuals were transported to Narathiwas Rajanagarindra Hospital for treatment. Investigations into both incidents are ongoing.
