Intoxicated Foreigner Arrested After Assaulting Disabled Man in Pattaya

PATTAYA – A foreign tourist was taken into custody following an alleged assault on a disabled Thai man in the LK Metro nightlife district, an incident that prompted local bystanders to intervene before police arrival. The altercation occurred around 11:50 p.m. two days ago, causing significant disruption in the busy entertainment area.

Foreigners’ Violent Attack on Thai Man Sparks Outrage in Phuket

According to eyewitness accounts, the unidentified foreign national, estimated to be between 30 and 40 years old, was heavily intoxicated and behaving erratically while shirtless. The situation escalated when he became involved in a dispute over reportedly missing money while accompanied by a Thai woman. During the confrontation, he allegedly pushed a disabled Thai man to the ground, triggering immediate intervention from locals and security personnel who restrained him until authorities arrived.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Suchat Dusadee, deputy chief of the Pattaya City Police Station’s patrol division, confirmed that officers encountered a volatile situation upon arrival. The suspect reportedly responded with verbal abuse and spat at officers, necessitating his forcible detention.
