PHUKET – The body of a 21-year-old Chinese tourist, who went missing while swimming at Nai Harn beach earlier this week, was recovered on Friday morning near Koh Moo, off Ya Nui beach. The tourist, identified as Yuan Wenyi, was reported missing on Wednesday afternoon after he disappeared in the waters off Nai Harn beach. In response, Vice Admiral Weerudom Muangjeen, commander of the Third Naval Area and director of the Maritime Enforcement Command Centre, ordered a full-scale search operation. The effort involved naval personnel, Rawai Municipality officials, professional lifeguards, and local rescue teams.

Search operations throughout Thursday covered a wide area stretching from Nai Harn beach to Ao Sen, and extending to Ya Nui beach and Koh Kaeo. Teams meticulously combed both coastal and rocky areas without success. The search resumed on Friday morning, focusing on the rocky shoreline between Ya Nui beach and Promthep Cape.
