The suspects, whose nationalities have not yet been disclosed, rented a black Honda Click 160 and a bronze Honda Click 150 from a shop on Koh Lanta but failed to return the vehicles as agreed. After extending the rental period illegally by more than two hours, the pair rode the bikes to Phuket, where they were last spotted near a cannabis shop in Choeng Thale.
Police turned to Facebook to share images of the suspects, prompting tips from the public. A local cannabis shop owner provided crucial information that led authorities to the men. Officers swiftly recovered the stolen motorcycles and took the suspects into custody.
Investigators also linked the duo to thefts from convenience and cannabis shops, though further details on those incidents remain unclear. The daughter of the rental shop owner expressed gratitude to the community for their assistance in locating the bikes and warned others to remain vigilant when renting vehicles to tourists.
Choeng Thale Police confirmed that the foreigners will face legal action, though specific charges and potential penalties have not yet been announced. Authorities are continuing their investigation and will keep the public updated as the case progresses.
