Japanese Man Found Dead Near Pattaya Viewpoint: Investigation Underway
PATTAYA – A tragic discovery was made on Thursday afternoon when a Japanese man was found hanged from a tree on Koh Larn, a picturesque island near Pattaya, Chon Buri province, popular among tourists for its stunning beaches and viewpoints.

The grim scene was reported to authorities at 4:30 PM after a tourist alerted a local security guard about the body in a forested area near the Khao Phra Yai viewpoint, which overlooks two of the island’s beaches. Police, forensic teams, and rescue workers swiftly arrived at the location.
Upon arrival, officials discovered the body of a foreign man hanging from a tree with a rope around his neck. Nearby, less than 10 meters away, they found several personal belongings.
On a stone bench inside a nearby pavilion, authorities also recovered a Japanese passport belonging to a 48-year-old man. The passport and other items were collected as evidence by forensic technicians to assist in the investigation.

A security guard from the Pattaya City municipality stated that after being alerted by a tourist, he and his team immediately inspected the area, cordoned it off, and notified the police. Authorities are now reviewing footage from nearby closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras to gather more information about the man’s activities leading up to his death and to determine the exact cause.
The body has been transported to Bhattamakun Hospital for further examination, pending notification of the man’s relatives.
