Nine People, Including Chinese Tourists, Injured after Tour Bus Crash in Phuket

Emergency responders were alerted to the scene after the bus, traveling downhill, reportedly experienced brake failure. Witnesses stated that the driver seemed unable to stop the vehicle, causing it to overturn and nearly crash into a house on the roadside.

Upon arrival, rescue teams found the bus lying on its side with 38 Russian tourists inside. Fortunately, all passengers sustained only minor injuries and were promptly treated at the scene before being transported to nearby hospitals for further medical evaluation.

The Kamala Police have launched an investigation into the cause of the accident. Preliminary reports suggest that brake failure may have been the primary factor. The bus driver, who was unharmed, attributed the incident to mechanical issues with the vehicle’s braking system.

Authorities are examining the bus for any signs of negligence or poor maintenance. They are also reviewing the driver’s credentials and the tour company’s safety protocols to determine if any violations contributed to the accident.

The incident has sparked concerns about the safety of tour buses and transportation services in Phuket, a province that relies heavily on tourism. Local authorities have emphasized the importance of regular vehicle maintenance and stricter enforcement of safety regulations to prevent similar accidents in the future.

Tour operators and transportation companies are being urged to conduct thorough inspections of their fleets, particularly brakes and other critical systems, to ensure passenger safety.
