Online TM6 Form for Visitors to Thailand Launching on May 1

The Thai government has announced the official launch of the online TM6 immigration form for international travelers, effective May 1, 2025. This initiative aims to streamline the immigration process, reduce paperwork, and enhance the overall travel experience for visitors entering Thailand.

What is the TM6 Form?

The TM6 form, also known as the arrival/departure card, is a mandatory document that all foreigners entering Thailand must complete. It includes essential personal information, travel details, and the purpose of the visit. Immigration officers use this form to monitor and record entries and exits for security and statistical purposes.

Benefits of the Online TM6 Form

1. Convenience:
• Travelers can now fill out the TM6 form online before arrival, avoiding the need to complete paper forms on the plane or at immigration counters.

2. Time-Saving:
• The online form is expected to significantly reduce waiting times at immigration checkpoints, particularly at busy airports like Suvarnabhumi and Phuket International Airport.

3. Eco-Friendly:
• By transitioning to a digital format, Thailand is contributing to the reduction of paper waste, aligning with its sustainability goals.

4. Data Accuracy:
• Digital submission minimizes errors caused by illegible handwriting or incomplete information, ensuring smoother processing for travelers.

Visitors will be able to access the online TM6 form through the official Thai Immigration Bureau website or the Thailand Pass mobile app, an anonymous source reported.

Fill in Required Details:

Information to provide includes:

• Personal details (name, date of birth, nationality).
• Passport information.
• Travel itinerary, including flight number and address in Thailand.
• Purpose of visit (tourism, business, etc.).

Submission:

• Once completed, travelers will receive a QR code or confirmation number, which must be presented to immigration officers upon arrival.

According to the source, during the initial phase, both the online TM6 form and the traditional paper form will be accepted to accommodate travelers unfamiliar with the new system. Airlines will notify passengers of the online option prior to departure.

Full Implementation:

The government plans to phase out the paper form entirely by late 2025, depending on the success of the rollout.

The Director of the Immigration Bureau, Police Lieutenant General Somchai Phuengsiri, stated: “The launch of the online TM6 form is part of our broader effort to improve efficiency and convenience for international travelers while ensuring the highest standards of security and data management.”

The introduction of the online TM6 form marks a significant milestone in Thailand’s efforts to modernize its immigration process. As the system rolls out on May 1, 2025, travelers are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the new platform and enjoy a smoother, faster entry experience into the Land of Smiles.

Further updates and instructions will be made available on the official Thai Immigration Bureau website.
